Dependable staff for every role

The person you let into your home should be someone you can check.

Frimak places nannies, house managers, caregivers, chefs, drivers, gardeners and hospitality staff across Nairobi and Naivasha. Every candidate is identity-verified, police-checked, referenced by phone and placed on a written contract.

3-month replacement guarantee Written contracts as standard Wage-order compliant salaries

Identity

We hold the original ID. Copied, filed and matched to the person who turns up on day one.

Police record

We collect the DCI certificate ourselves. We never accept one a candidate brings in.

References

We phone the last two employers. Written letters alone are not evidence.

Paperwork

A signed contract on every placement, with duties, hours, salary and leave written down.

Who we place

Household staff, and the people who keep a business running

Live-in or live-out, permanent, temporary or relief cover. Tell us the role and we will shortlist three candidates rather than sending you a stack of CVs.

Also placed: gardeners and grounds staff, gate and security personnel, cleaners, tea and office assistants, shop attendants and sales assistants, plumbers, and temporary relievers when your regular staff travel. Tell us the role →

How we vet

Five checks, done in that order, before anyone meets you

Most bad placements in Nairobi trace back to a document nobody verified. Forged reference letters and police certificates are common enough that Kenya's Diplomatic Police Unit warns households about both by name. So we do not accept paperwork at face value.

Identity confirmed

Original national ID sighted, copied front and back, and a current photograph taken and kept on file.

Police clearance we collect

The DCI Certificate of Good Conduct is applied for and collected by us, so it cannot be substituted or forged in transit.

Referees called, not read

We phone the last two employers, confirm the dates, and note who we spoke to and what they said. Relatives are not accepted as referees.

Skills assessed for the role

Practical assessment against your brief — newborn handling, cooking, driving, cleaning standards — not a generic interview.

Contract and onboarding

Duties, hours, salary, days off and leave written down and signed by both sides before the first day of work.

The guarantee

If the placement does not work, we replace them free for 3 months.

Most agencies in Nairobi guarantee two weeks to one month. Ours runs three — the top of what this market offers — and unlike almost anyone else we publish exactly what it covers and what it does not.

  • One free like-for-like replacement inside the guarantee period.
  • No second placement fee, and no argument about whose fault it was.
  • We keep vetted candidates on file, so most replacements go out within 72 hours.

Also included

  • A written contract for every placement, not a handshake.
  • Salary set at or above the legal floorKES 18,047 a month for domestic workers in Nairobi since 1 May 2026.
  • NSSF and SHIF guidance so you are not exposed on statutory deductions.
  • A check-in call at day 7 and day 30 of every placement.

New rules, 2026

Do you know what you are legally required to pay your house help?

On 1 May 2026 the minimum monthly wage for domestic workers in Nairobi rose to KES 18,047. It covers house helps, nannies, gardeners and watchmen. Underpaying now carries a fine of up to KES 50,000, up to three months' imprisonment, or both — and it applies to staff you hired years ago, not only new placements.

We will send you a free one-page compliance pack: the current wage table, a contract template you can use, and a plain-English checklist for NSSF and SHIF.

Common questions

Before you call

How long does a placement take?

For common roles — nanny, house help, house manager, gardener — we usually present a shortlist within 48 to 72 hours of receiving your brief. Specialist roles such as private chefs, drivers with specific licence classes, or a caregiver with nursing experience typically take five to seven days.

Do I pay you, or does the worker?

You do. The employer pays the placement fee. We do not deduct anything from the worker's salary and we do not charge job seekers a fee to be registered with us. Kenya's private employment agency regulations are explicit that the fee is charged to the principal, and deducting from a domestic worker's wage is one of the practices that gives this industry its reputation.

What if I do not like the person you send?

Then you do not take them. We present a shortlist, you interview, and you decide. Nothing is payable until you have chosen someone and they have started. After they start, the 3-month replacement guarantee covers you.

Can you place staff who live in?

Yes, for most roles. Live-in staff need proper accommodation — a private, lockable room with a bed and access to a bathroom. We will ask about this in the brief because it affects both the salary and who will accept the job.

Do you handle payroll and statutory deductions?

We can. Beyond the placement, we offer a monthly retainer that keeps contracts current, issues payslips, and tracks NSSF, SHIF and annual leave for the staff you already have — not only the ones we placed. See how it works →

Which areas do you cover?

All of Nairobi and its suburbs from our Westlands office, and Naivasha and the surrounding lakefront and cottage areas. For roles outside these two, ask — we can often place, but we will tell you honestly if we cannot vet properly at distance.

Tell us the role. We will do the checking.

A short set of questions about the job, the household and the start date — then a shortlist, usually within 72 hours.
